How to Make Tahini? A Guide to Homemade and Industrial Production

Homemade Tahini

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sesame seeds

  • ¼ cup olive oil

  • A pinch of salt

Preparation:

  1. Remove the hulls from the sesame seeds.

  2. Roast the sesame seeds in a preheated oven at 150–200°C for about 6 minutes.

  3. Stir, return to the oven, and roast for another 6–8 minutes.

  4. Let the roasted seeds cool in another container.

  5. Blend the seeds in a food processor.

  6. Add olive oil and mix until it reaches a paste-like consistency.

  7. If needed, add a bit more olive oil.

  8. Finally, add salt and store the mixture in a glass jar.
